From dance parties to comedy shows, pool parties, fashion shows, theatrical productions, culture & art fairs to one of the biggest LPGA golf tournaments of the year, this crazy cool weekend has something for everyone! Exclusive LSpot Interview by Melanie Jones With her quirky, tongue-in-cheek lyrics, universal pop melodies and trademark curly hair, British dance floor Barbarella Lolene is a hot topic. Coining the term, "awkward pop," Lolene describes her sound as "Joan Collins in Dynasty, Studio 54, white jump-suits, and disco balls."

And this year is no exception!

Urban inspiration: abstract expression - New Works by Ashleigh Sumner~ Artist Reception: Saturday April 3rd - 5-8pm~ Show runs: April 1 - 30, 2010~In her paintings, Sumner attempts to incorporate the implied visual of densely populated urban landscapes with the raw, gritty texture of industrial areas. With a palette knife, she applies several layers of bold color by scraping paint across wood panels or canvas. Sumner then incorporates strong accents of black through out the piece. Finally, resin is introduced into the process to render added depth and to convey a modern, veneer surface to the artwork. Her film work includes a lead role in the indie film, "And Then Came Lola" which has played every major gay and lesbian film festival across the globe. Ashleigh's performance in "And Then Came Lola" earned her Advocate Magazine's "One to Watch" honor at the 2009 Out Fest sponsored by HBO. Dezart One Gallery~ 2688 Cherokee Way . Saturday, April 3rd, 1:00 Shotgun Start Scramble New Course, New Format, Same Great Tournament & lots of prizes.
