Conscious relationships are not for the weak-hearted, nor for those without a sense of humor! The truly conscious relationship is a fast-track opportunity to evolve, and an invitation to experience unified love. In Conscious Relationships there is no hiding; there can only be truth. Only authenticity can survive the intense fire of the Divine which dissolves the veils between souls. The clearing of old, expired data that is experienced in such a relationship keeps passion, vitality and love in a state of synchronized awareness.

“Conscious Relationships Are Not For Dummies” is for those desiring to deepen their relationship with another person, with The Divine, and/or with The Self. Whether you come by yourself or as a couple, join us for the adventure of a conscious lifetime!

Holistically Speaking

by Dr. Judith Harris

Reiki Energy

In the past, the Desert Sun did an article in the Healthy Living section on “Reiki Healing Therapy.”  As a Reiki Master teacher, I would be remiss if I didn’t continue the awareness of this remarkable healing system.  As more and more self healing advocates pursue alternative/complementary approaches to healing and wellness, it is obvious that Western medicine and these complementary modalities can work together in the best interest of the client.  More and more studies have proven the fact that to have harmony in life there must be balance in mind, body and spirit.

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is one modality that more people are turning to for help.  It works on all three levels of the body: mind, body and spirit, simultaneously.  It is a technique that aids the body in releasing stress and tension by creating deep relaxation.

Healing with energy is becoming more popular as people seek alternative/complementary methods of improving the quality of their live and the lives of others.

Reiki, discovered in Japan by Usui Mikao in the 1920’s, works compatibly with all other healing methods.  In the life force energy of Reiki, the person who is attuned as a Reiki healer has had her body’s energy channels opened and cleared of any obstructions by the Reiki attunements. The process of attunement or initiation is what sets Reiki apart from every other form of touch healing. During a treatment, the client remains fully clothed.  When the hands of the practitioner touch on or above the client, the life force energy that naturally flows through their body increases and is transferred to the client where it is needed.  Those receiving Reiki treatments report feeling sensations of warmth, heat, energy waves, electricity or pulsations.  It is an effective alternative or complement to massage therapy.  It supports any medical or supplemental healing method the client may be using.

Reiki is easy to integrate into the hospital setting.  It can be performed in a chair or hospital bed and can be adapted in the presence of medical equipment, carts or surgical dressings.  Hospitals across the country have seen wonderful success with Reiki.  Dr. Mehmet Oz, a noted cardiothoracic surgeon at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, brings a trained Reiki healer to balance a patient’s energy during an operation.  A study by the National Center in Complementary and Alternative Medicine is looking at the use of Reiki to improve well-being and quality of life for patients with advanced AIDS.  There are tremendous benefits in combining Reiki with traditional medicine.

Some of the benefits of Reiki Treatments:

  * Restores energy, balance, and vitality by relieving physical and emotional effects of

     unreleased stress.

   * It gently and effectively opens blocked meridians and clears emotional baggage.

   * Assists in the release of pain and discomfort.

   * Assists the body in cleansing toxins.

   * Boosts the immune system which helps protect the body against illness.

   * Treats the person’s body, emotions, mind and spirit as a whole.

   * One of the few healing modalities you can do for yourself.

Dr. Harris of Therapeutic Healing Arts, will be offering a Level 1 and Level 11 class on Saturday and Sunday May 17 & 18th.   If interested, please contact her at 760.898.1141 for more information.
